Free Thanksgiving Word Scramble & Answer Key

Keep the kids entertained while the turkey cooks with this fun Thanksgiving word scramble printable!

Last week I shared my Thanksgiving word search, and this week it’s time for a holiday word scramble!

There are 20 Thanksgiving and fall themed words to unscramble, so it’s the perfect Thanksgiving activity for some family fun and to give your brain a bit of a workout. But don’t worry if you can’t get them all! The free download includes the answer key in case anyone gets stuck.

Word scrambles are a brilliant way to add a little bit of education to a fun activity. Word puzzles have been shown to improve problem solving and boost vocabulary, spelling and working memory.

This word scramble activity has a good mix of long and short words, so it could be a fun team game for different age groups to do together. To make it more competitive you pit players against each other or the clock to see who can unscramble the most words in a set amount of time.

Unzip the file to your hard drive.
Print out as many copies of your Thanksgiving word scramble pdf as you want!

The download includes the word scramble puzzle and the answer key. Both are in PDF format in a zipped file. They’re sized for US Letter paper / 8.5 x 11 inches but they’re also print well on A4 paper! You just might need to adjust your printer settings slightly so that your printer doesn’t crop the edges of the page.

For the best results I’d recommend printing on high quality printer paper.

If you want to save some paper then you could fit 2 word scramble puzzles on one page and use scissors, or I love my paper trimmer to quickly cut each puzzle down to size.
